Ever since we moved into our house October 2010, Chris has been wanting a makeover, for the yard. The front yard not so much, the back yard, yes. Chris has had big plans for the back yard since day one; a deck, patio, shed, put the trampoline in the ground and a fire pit, just to name a few. Everything that he wants came down to one thing, the rv pad, or lack there of. Looking at the front of the house, the rv pad goes up to our gate then stops, there is room for it to keep going but it didn't get finished by the previous owners. So Chris spent all last summer applying weed block and pulling weeds in that area. This summer he "landscaped" around the good part of the grass. Then last week, he pulled up our sprinkler pump and relocated it. (Yes, this is the same pump that flooded our house back in September. Chris has been wanting to relocate it further back in the yard so it doesn't flood our house again.)It was a lot of stupid, hard labor (and not to mention $$$) that needed to be done in order for Chris's backyard plans to start falling into place.
Supervising
Relocating the sprinkler pump. Pretty sure Home Depot knows Chris (and I) by name now.
See all that mud?? Yuck!
Dirty dirty boy
Today the concrete was poured.
The truck barely fit in between our gate, we're talking millimeters.
Tight fit
Here we go!!!
Smoothing and spreading the concrete. These guys did a fantastic job!
Just about done....
Voila! So nice.
It looks amazing!! I am so excited that the dirt/mud (when it rains) will be gone. I'm ecstatic that now I have a place to put a swing. Chris is thrilled that his "foundation for the shed" is laid and now we have somewhere to put patio furniture. AND now we have extra parking if we need it. I think it looks awesome. It'll probably take us a few months to recover financially from this big purchase, but it was sooo worth it. I know it just looks like concrete right now, but think of all the possibilities. YAY!
What are you lookin' at?
